Ghana Premier League Champions Asante Kotoko SC have mutually terminated their contract with defender Abdul Ismail Ganiyu with two weeks to start the of 2022/23 season.
The player has been in the books of the Porcupine Warriors since joining from Karela United in 2018.
Close source available to Ghsportsnews.com indicate that, Ganiyu want to seek for a new challenge elsewhere which will fetch him more salary as compared to what he is earning with Kotoko.
Kotoko Managements attempts to convince him to rescind his decision resulted in his salary. Ismail Ganiyu was on GHC 10,000 monthly salary with the Reds after renewing his contract last year.
The 26-years-old defender led Asante Kotoko to their 25th league title last season, but played fewer matches due to consistent injuries he sustained last season.
