Double Delight For Ghana In Rugby As Both Male And Female Teams Qualify For Pre-World Cup Qualifiers Semis

The Ghana Rugby Men’s 7s team have qualified to the semi- finals of the pre- world Cup Rugby Africa Regional Sevens West Tournament after an impressive victory against Benin.

The Eagles put up a good performance against Niger in their first game when the beat Niger 32-0 before they demolished the Benin team by 40-0 to booked their qualification to the semi finals.

Ghana will take on Benin in the first semi finals 1 tommorow.

Burkina Faso vs Cote d’ivoire

On the Women’s side, the Eagles put up an excellent performance to beat their Togolese counterparts by a chocking 51-0.

In their second game, the Eagles came from behind to beat Burkina Faso 19-17 at the Paa Joe Stadium park inside KNUST in Kumasi to qualify for the semi finals of the competition where they will face off with Benin and Burkina Faso tommorow.

Also, the two winners of the western men’s Regional tournament will qualify for the Africa Men’s Sevens, the last continental confrontation in hope of qualifying to participate in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK or in the Rugby World Cup 7 which will take place for the first time on African soil in September 2022 in Cape Town, South Africa.
