Cameroon striker George Mfegue scores Asante Kotoko’s first ever Premier League goal in Dormaa in 11 Years
Asante Kotoko recorded yet another away victory in the Ghana Premier League as they overcame Aduana FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Saturday.
Cameroon Striker George Mfegue scored on the 19th minute through a beautiful cross from Imoro Ibrahim to give Kotoko the opening goal of the game and he becomes Asante Kotoko’s first ever player to scored a Premier League Goal in Dormaa in 11 years.
Asante Kotoko was the better side in the first half and went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Back from the break, Bright Adjei missed a glorious opportunity in the second half to get the equalizer for Aduana Stars in the 62nd minute as his close shave went wide.
Midfielder Richmond Lamptey tapped home from close range – what was easier to score than to miss in the 89th minute following an error between defender Derrick Boateng and goalkeeper Joseph Addo.
Aduana Stars have now lost twice at home in the on-going season after they suffered a 3-1 loss to King Faisal on Match Day Two. The result takes Asante Kotoko to the top of the table with 23 points – three points richer than King Faisal who host Bibiani Gold Stars on Sunday.
Aduana FC thus suffers back to back defeats in the season after losing to Medeama 1-0 away at Tarkwa last week.
