Manchester United have officially completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea in a deal worth an initial £48 million, with a further £2 million in performance-related add-ons.
The 22-year-old has signed a long-term contract at Old Trafford, bringing an end to his spell at Stamford Bridge.
Santos leaves Chelsea after an impressive 2025/26 campaign, during which he made 43 appearances across all competitions and established himself as one of the club’s standout midfielders. His performances attracted strong interest from several clubs before Manchester United secured his signature.
The Brazilian international is expected to strengthen United’s midfield following recent changes to the squad, with the club viewing him as a key part of their long-term plans. Santos expressed his delight after completing the transfer, describing the move to Old Trafford as a dream come true.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have negotiated a 10% sell-on clause as part of the agreement, ensuring they retain an interest in any future transfer involving the talented midfielder.
Santos now begins a new chapter at Manchester United, where expectations will be high as he looks to build on the impressive form that made him one of the Premier League’s most promising young midfielders last season.
