The ongoing 2023 African Games has seen remarkable prospects with regards to the exhibition of talent from the African continent.

The Accra International Conference Centre hosts the 2023 Table Tennis African Games, and the atmosphere at the Dome has been serene and welcoming for Africa’s finest table tennis athletes from across the continent.

This edition looks exceptional and dynamic, featuring participants from over 29 countries, the highest so far in the history of the games since its inception in 1965 in Congo, Brazzaville. (Table Tennis was added to the Games in 1973 in Lagos, Nigeria)

The introduction of junior players making their first major debut is a testament to the continent’s readiness to build up a resilient youthful exuberance in order to face other continents. The likes of Nigeria’s Kuti Mathew, Ghana’s Israel Aklie and Joanita Borteye, Uganda’s Subatindira Joseph, and Kenya’s Abduldain Anaab and Nafula Sifa are promising stars for the continent in the coming years.
