MSK Zilina Africa Crowned 2026 Cheetah Cup Champions After Late Victory Over Cheetah FC

MSK Zilina Africa have been crowned champions of the 2026 Cheetah Cup after edging hosts Cheetah FC 1-0 in a dramatic boys’ final at the Yartel Okoso Park, popularly known as the Predators Den, in Senya Beraku on Sunday, August 23.

The decisive moment came in the 86th minute when MSK Zilina Africa found the breakthrough to settle a tightly contested final and deny the host side the ultimate prize on home soil.

The victory marks a significant achievement for MSK Zilina Africa, who went one step further after finishing as runners-up in the 2025 edition of the tournament.

In last year’s final, MSK Zilina Africa drew 0-0 with Nacoro Sporting Academy after regulation time before suffering a 5-4 defeat in the ensuing penalty shootout.

A year later, the Ghana-based side returned with renewed determination and produced the crucial moment when it mattered most, securing the Cheetah Cup title with a late winner.

Cheetah FC, who had enjoyed strong home support throughout the tournament, were unable to find a response after conceding in the closing stages as MSK Zilina Africa held on to complete a memorable triumph.

The 2026 Cheetah Cup, which ran from August 16 to 23, brought together youth football clubs from 13 African countries, with the competition providing a platform for young talents to showcase their ability on an international stage.

For MSK Zilina Africa, the triumph represents both a first Cheetah Cup title and redemption after last year’s painful penalty-shootout defeat.
