Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak SC have officially parted ways with head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and his entire technical team after just one season in charge of the club.
The decision brings an end to a campaign that produced mixed reactions among supporters, despite the team setting a remarkable defensive record in the Ghana Premier League.
Didi Dramani guided Hearts of Oak through 34 league matches, recording 13 wins, 15 draws, and only 6 defeats. Under his leadership, the Phobians scored 25 goals and conceded just 15 the best defensive record in the league.
One of the standout achievements of his tenure was Hearts of Oak’s historic 24 clean sheets in 34 league games, a new Ghana Premier League record that highlighted the team’s defensive discipline and tactical organization throughout the season.
Despite the impressive defensive numbers, many fans expressed concerns over the club’s attacking struggles, with Hearts managing only 25 goals across the entire campaign. The high number of draws also affected the club’s title ambitions and ultimately shaped opinions about Dramani’s future at the club.
Didi Dramani arrived at Hearts of Oak with vast experience, having previously worked with the Ghana national teams and several top clubs. Expectations were high when he took over, with supporters hoping he would restore the club to its dominant status in Ghana football.
While his side became difficult to beat, critics argued that Hearts lacked creativity and consistency in attack. However, others believe the former coach deserves credit for rebuilding the team’s defensive structure and creating stability after difficult seasons in recent years.
The departure of Dramani and his technical team now leaves Hearts of Oak searching for a new direction ahead of the upcoming season as the club aims to challenge strongly for domestic honours once again.
For many supporters, Didi Dramani’s spell at Hearts of Oak will be remembered as a season of defensive excellence, discipline, and missed attacking opportunities a campaign that divided opinion but still produced a historic league record.
