The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Legon Cities, Terry Aidam has stated that his outfit didn’t sign Asamoah Gyan only for footballing reasons.

Asamoah Gyan on joining was tipped by connoisseurs of game to have a massive impact on the club on the field, but that hasn’t been the case, Gyan has so far featured in just 3 games for the Royals, with all those appearances coming from the bench.

“Asamoah Gyan was signed for both purpose, he’s one a footballer and then his brand excess. You can attest to the fact that Asamoah Gyan coming to add to the Legon Cities brand has given it a big money,” Terry Aidam said.

He continued: “If you’re looking at the numbers, then you come so we can look at my balance sheet.

However, Terry Aidam admitted that things hasn’t panned out like they wanted it to be, but the club is close to achieving it goal with Asamoah Gyan.

“From where we sit, yes we haven’t gotten it right but we can say we are almost breaking even for bringing him on board.

Terry Aidan went on to add that the team has a long term plan and is trying to do things differently from other clubs. He added that the current investments will take time to yield desired results.

Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan has returned to full training and is expected to be fit before the commencement of the Ghana Premier League second round in April.
