“Work is been done on OlympicAfrica project at Amasaman. We started work on the site by clearing the place at a cost of GHȻ35,000.00 paid by Decker Engineering.

“We also managed to get ANOCA to revive their interest in the stadium and made a promise to invest $150,000.00 into the project once it got started. They have requested for new drawings so they can also make some inputs to fit its intended purpose. The IOC has also agreed in principle to support the development of the project and have also requested for the drawings and quantities to make an input.

“We have received about $9,270 (GH45,000) sponsorship from Cocoa from Ghana and GH₵50,000 sponsorship also from PaySwitch Ghana to invest into the project making a total of GH95,000. Only GH8, 000 of this amount has so far been disbursed. I will put together a five-man committee very soon to continue with work at the site.

“But for now I can say the Amasaman site which was once a forest has now been turned into a community park with football, netball and volleyball facilities where the youth from Amasaman and its surroundings go and do sports and keep-fit activities.”
