Sports enthusiast and Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGI) Lawyer Kwame Asuah-Takyi joined a team of top ranking officials to have been selected for the presentation of the annual SWAG awards.
The Comptroller General was tasked by Sports Writers Association Of Ghana (SWAG) to present Plaque and HD+ Decoder to the 2022 SWAG Amateur Boxer of the year.
Abraham Mensah won the 2022 Commonwealth Games Silver medal and was eventually adjudged Amateur Boxer of the year under review.
The yearly award scheme, which was graced by the Paramount Chief of Assin Kushea, Nana Prah Agyensaim VI, saw other top officials like the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo- Dampare, SWAG President, Kwabena Yeboah, Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Mustapha Ussif, Prof. Peter Twumasi, Director General, NSA, Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku, acting Managing Doctor of MNT Ghana, Mr. Shaibu Haruna, Awuley Quaye, Nii Dodoo Ankrah, Madam Adelaide Abdiw- Williams, the CEO of HD+ Decoder among other personalities with a great performance from Ghanaian Afropop singer, Wendy Shay.
The maiden edition of SWAG awards was held in 1975 and has since evolved into nationwide event.
The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) is Professional body that includes sports journalist, analysts, commentators and recognized sports Associations in Ghana.
