Official launch of WISA Charities today

In February 2014, God blessed a group of women to organise, appreciate and honour their fellow women who are contributing positively to the development of sports in the country, be it athletes, administrators and journalists among others.

However, the responsibility fell on one of them and with her passion for sports, she continued to build the Women In Sports Association (WISA), an NGO, which was formed and duly registered at the Registrar Generals Department in Accra the same year. It was to celebrate women in all fields of sporting activities annually and to inspire others to give of their best in their chosen sporting careers.

With her hard work and support from the National Sports Authority (NSA), Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), corporate Ghana (sponsors) and her able executives, the annual WISA Awards became a formidable event as many sports women across the length and breadth of the country looked forward to it yearly. So far, a substantial number of sports women have been recognized, empowered and inspired by this initiative to work even harder in their various sporting fields. That woman is Madam Gloria Commodore!

You can make donations from GH₵10.00 and above into the WISA Mobile Money Account – +233(0)244104599 or +233(0)245017487 and WISA will be most grateful.
