Former Black Starlets Skipper, Eric Ayiah Opens Up On Life After U-17

Former Black Starlets skipper of the Ghana and a former player of Charity Stars, Eric Ayiah has opened up on his journey as a young talent.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, the 20 year-old recounted the struggles he had to go through and getting the opportunity to captain the Black Starlets at the U-17 World Cup in India.

“It has not been easy for me. I grew up without my biological parents. They are no more, but God has pushed me through the ranks by captaining the U-17 without paying anything to a coach and now at As Monaco. God has really done a lot for me and I’m grateful,” he mentioned.”

The former Charity Stars forward further talked about meeting Portuguese and Juventus Star, Cristiano Ronaldo the first time and how he is faring after breaking into the team B of AS Monaco.

“It was a dream come through when I got the opportunity to meet Cristiano Ronaldo. I never imagined meeting him in my life.

I have never been on the bench since I broke through the second team of Monaco.”

Ayiah, who is managed by Portuguese super football agent, Jorge Mendes who also manages five-time balon d’or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jose Mourinho, Diego Costa, Joao Felix among others.

Ayiah joined the French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco on a five-year deal from Ghana lower-tier club Charity Stars FC.
