Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has retained goalkeeper Benjamin Asare in his starting lineup for the Black Stars’ decisive FIFA World Cup Group L encounter against Croatia on Saturday.
Asare impressed during Ghana’s goalless draw against England and continues between the posts as the West Africans seek a place in the Round of 32.
The Black Stars have named an experienced side, with captain Jordan Ayew leading the attack alongside Kamaldeen Sulemana and Antoine Semenyo. Midfield responsibilities will be anchored by Thomas Partey and Kwasi Sibo, while Elisha Owusu is given a more advanced role behind the front three.
Ghana know that a positive result against Croatia could secure their passage to the knockout stages, while Croatia require victory to keep their qualification hopes alive. The match is expected to be a tense and fiercely contested affair in Philadelphia.
